Chapters 1-9: Genealogies Chapters 10-29: The Reign of David
Purposes: 1. To show the genealogy leading up to the kingly throne of David 2. To show the good history of King David's reign 3. To show the order of worship established in David's Tabernacle and the preparation for the buliding of the Temple under Solomon 4. To show the relationship of the kings of Judah to the temple in Jerusalem (interaction between the kings and priests)
Messages: 1. God sees our righteous works even when there are unrighteous works present 2. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble 3. The progress in our spiritual life is dependent upon our relationship with God
