Purposes: 1. To answer the questions that the Corinthians had concerning problems in the church 2. To reprove and correct abuses in the mental, moral, social, and spiritual life of the Corinthian church

Message: 1. Recognition of the Lordship of Jesus is the solution to division in the body of Christ. 2. God's Church must be built by God's wisdom and power rather than by man's. 3. To have order in the Church, we must conform to God's order. 4. The thing that builds the Church is sound doctrine. The thing that motivates the Church is God's love.

v.4

I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

v.5-6

For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge—⁶because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.

v.7

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

v.9

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

v.21

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

v.27

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
